Julie Smith, CEO of Decatur Health has many years of experience in rural healthcare and quality. As an RN, BSN Julie has been involved in several rural collaboratives to network Emergency Services and Critical Access Hospitals. Receiving her Masters in Healthcare Administration (MHA) in 2004 has provided Julie with opportunities to expand from nursing to administration responsibilities in rural healthcare.

The goal is to make the hospital here in town an ongoing successful business. We are here to serve the community. “I am excited to work as the CEO at Decatur Health. Our hospital and this community are very fortunate to have key staff and services already in place.”
“I am a positive person and like to say my glass is three-quarters full. With my experience in the clinical setting, along with being a certified professional in healthcare quality (CPHQ), I focus on opportunities for improvement and ways to utilize the talent and resources we have to continue providing quality health care to the community and surrounding area.”
“I am looking forward to the future for Decatur Health.”
In the spirit of cooperation and collaboration with the Decatur County Health Department, EMS and law enforcement, city, county and school we hope to identify needs that as a group/community we can address.

Krystal Hollars
We have always had a great experience with the Doctors and the Nursing staff that go above and beyond for the residents that were seen in Oberlin. It is nice to know that their patients are their priority and the follow-up calls directly from the doctors were such a blessing knowing that they truly cared. Look foreword to doing more business with the Decatur County Hospital and clinic.
